Zen Habitats....
In another thread Cheesenugget mentioned Zen Caging.... So I google searched, being I haven't heard of them... (Thanks Cheesenugget )
https://www.zenhabitats.com/collecti...umidity-panels
What are the thoughts on these?? $389.00 for a 4x2x2 with free shipping... Looks like they do everything the others do, just use an aluminum frame
with pvc panels. UTH and Radiant heat compatible, high humidity compatible. I think it should have a center cross bar on the bottom frame to help distribute
the weight, especially with larger snakes, but they look decent. Am I missing anything I should be looking for??
they also sell bases, and spacers for stacking their cages too.
I'll be looking to purchase a few pvc style cages the beginning of the year and was just exploring all options.

If you're happy with PVC enclosures* these look like a great choice to me, with the improved support of a metal frame. Don't know anyone who's tried them though?
(*Full disclosure, I'm a glass fan, tried a pair of Proline HDPE plastic enclosures a while back, still prefer glass & my Prolines were "rehomed".)
On these, you could probably add a center cross-bar for added support pretty easily...just go to Home Depot/Lowe's (etc), make sure to measure accurately, & glue
it underneath.

I’d avoid purely because of the screen top. Goodbye humidity and heat.
For $10 more you could get an ap cage the same size

Unknown about the pvc enclosure.... Right now all I have is front access glass terrariums and top access tanks, This looked like a compromise of the 2 styles
unlike a 1 piece pvc tank, with these it seems I could replace any of the panels in the setup if it gets damaged without a loss of the enclosure.
I like the size of 4x2x2 and they also do a 4x2x18" if the height is not needed. I also like the storage bottom, and the spacer that allows top mounted light / CHE's also would seem to help contain heat and humidity if needed
I have Zero experience with this type of enclosure.

Looks like that can be handled according to their website
- Humidity levels up to 100% for tropical setups
- Humidity Shield for top screen keeps humidity high while allowing for ventilation
and dealing with glass tanks right now, it's hard but no impossible to keep humidity up
I have been looking at AP Cages and Boaphile Plastics too.

I do like how they look, but I'm just not a fan of plastic.

But AP Cages are so cheap. Seems hard to beat when price is a factor. I mean they have a 48x24x25 on sale for $195, like that's pretty much unbeatable. And the only complaints from people are the lead times, not the quality.

Lead times wouldn't be an issue, I can be patient when required.
Don't forget to add $50 to $60 for shipping on AP Cages though, and they do have the options like a RHP, Led lights and a basking shelf done at the factory
which is cool too, though it does up the price a little.

True, but with that lead time, I would probably buy multiple at a time, so the shipping kind of balances out. The only accessory I would probably buy would be the cage locks; the rest can be found cheaper or better, I think.
