Hi!
I had my BP for about 6 months. And although his sheds has been perfect it’s also been quite a job keeping the humidity up for him spraying multiple times per day. As me and my husband are getting two more snakes I am looking at ways to make it easier than constantly spraying. We do use glass tanks. Not sure about switching to tubs... definitely want my boa in a glass tank with enough climbing space. Plus we do add extra insulation around our tanks as temps at our house are around 65. Our setup for our boy has been: 20 gallon with UTH on thermostat. CHE on thermostat. Paper towels. We tried adding wet towels over the cage, wrapping the top in aluminum foil etc.
a few ideas I’ve had:
- Taking covers and towels off screen tops, adding humidifier near cages set on 50-60%
- Using two UTH instead of One UTH and CHE (only wondering how that’ll keep up ambient temp)
- Adding walls to reptile corner and putting space heater on thermostat controller and heating entire area for snakes and get rid of CHE (this modification might take a little time)
- Switching to all moss or other type substrate
any other ideas would be super appreciated!!
