The way I remember the lore (didn't put it to the test personally) was that caramel albino (i.e. homozygous/visual) females produce slugs and that any caramel (necessarily from het females) had a good chance of being kinked. I think I produced 2.1 caramels in a single clutch from unrelated outbred parents once and remember at least one had a curly tail. There were breeders who claimed they never produced the kink backed animals and they generally chalked it up to outbreeding but I always wondered if it might have to do with nutrition or temperature as an accidental work around the tendency of the caramel mutation to cause kinking. Suppose maybe not as many working with them now that Ultramel and so many other awesome morphs are available. I still have a big het caramel female and always thought a chocolate caramel would be nice but can't get too excited about the work to produce one.
