Then practice your paddle stroke, a lot of people dog out cheaper kayaks because they don't track straight amd a bad stroke just makes it worse.
The best extra thing you can get is a paddle leash, it really sucks being in the creek without one.
After you are comfortable then start taking whatever else you want.
