Imo, freeways hold their color a little better, that's the main reason I went with asphalt over gravel. The freeways start out quite a bit darker and bolder so even though they fade as well, their color can still be quite impressive as an adult. I'll get a pic of my freeway boy tonight. He doesn't have pastel but he still looks really good and has nice contrast and he would be considered an adult at about 1000g, I'm actually expecting a couple of his clutches any day now.
