    As with most good ideas, there's a downside. Yes, terra cotta holds humidity (they also make holders for bottles of wine that are meant to be soaked to keep the
    wine cool via evaporation: https://www.leaf.tv/articles/how-to-...-wine-chiller/ ) But that very quality of terra cotta, that it's porous enough to absorb
    water, means it will also be hard to clean if or when your snake takes a dump on it. Just saying.
