My little 90 gram hognose actually has a hiss that could scare the crap outta me if I didn't know where it was coming from. He's freaking loud!!
I finally heard my Borneo boy let out a "real" hiss the other day (I lifted his hide not knowing he was in shed) and little Cosmo blows him away!!!

If you're close enough to see that "sinister smile", you're wrong... LOL

And if you're close enough to see the black inside their mouth you're even more wrong, hahahahaha.
That black mouth just symbolizes death to me

I've seen Youtube videos of bullsnakes putting on a show and it's pretty intimidating. All that hissing, the movements, and the slow, menacing tongue flick.
That said, I couldn't help but laugh a little when I saw the expression on this guy's face, he looks so angry but also goofy haha

This is an Atheris hispida.

Thanks, now I finally know what my favorite (other than ball pythons) snake is actually called other than "some kind of viper". Very appreciated.

You're welcome. There the more dragon looking species of Atheris, and they don't do well in the hobby. In the wild they eat snails and stuff, and when you get them WC they already have a parasite in the lung that kills them. I know there's one person in Europe that has a pair, but other than that they're not in the US.
Now Atheris squamigera's are different and very common in the hobby, green being the cheapest color. Black's are usually the most expensive with blues/reds being behind t hem.
