2 of Peanut Butter's 3 previous feeds were while completely out of the hide. I'm not worried though will try again after 5 days have passed. I seen to remember reading that they don't like to eat dead animals normally hence us doing the heating and zombie dance

They are not known to be carrion eaters, they make their own kills, so of course the "zombie dance" & heat signatures are important...these are snakes that really rely on
their heat sensing pits, but it gets tricky because they're fairly timid snakes, so too much motion from the rodent can scare them.

It might have put her "off" just because it wasn't a familiar smell? but truly, I would think their instincts would be "all over it" lol. Who knows what's in a snake's mind?

So Fluff ate tonight. 22g F/T rat. Wouldn't strike from the hide but took it quickly from the lid I left it on while I was trying to feed Peanut Butter. I saw him wrap and then watched him drag it into his hide. I think its confirmed he is an every other week eater. we tried on Sunday and no luck.

Now Peanut Butter showed interest, tongue flicks, following it with it's head. But no strike and I doubt she will take it though I left it in the cage. She ate on 4-5, 4-10 and 4-15 , she shed on 4-24 and hasn't eaten since, thats 3.5 weeks since eating. Now the last meal was 79g and the ones before were around 55g ea. I did see her drinking tonight from the water bowl. She moves from cold to hot side hides regularly and we see her out and about at night. She has been great to handle, no hissing or getting ready to strike, no balling up and kinda explores us while we hold her. Have only held her a few times and for less then 10 minutes each time. The cage has stayed pretty constant temps/humidity 90 hot 81 cool and 86-81 ambient. 55-70% humidity. Last poop/urate was on 4-25 and was a pretty good size. There was a slight green hue to part of it but she just had a perfect shed so I didn't think anything of it. Any suggestions?

I may have missed this earlier, but why the feedings every 5 days for PB? At the size described that seems awfully frequent. I do every 7 days initially and am comfortable pushing it out to 10 once they are sub-adults.

When we got the two of them they had been eating every other week and I felt they were a bit small for there ages so my plan was 3 quick meals then on to weekly, the 3 5-day meals ended on a sunday which was the day I wanted feeding day to be.

Ahhh, OK. I know a lot of emphasis is placed on BP weight in the hobby (probably more important when breeding), but body condition is a better indicator of how they are doing because weight is so variable. I used to weigh my BP's weekly, so I know how it is at first. But now I rarely weigh more than maybe once every 2 months because I go off how they look. You want them to have a slight triangular shape. So many snakes in captivity are overfed and obese. PB looked great in that first set of photos you posted of her, so I would try not to worry too much about 3.5 weeks not eating. She did eat a lot more food than she was used to in a short period of time.

Woooo Hoooo. Peanut Butter finally ate a 68g F/T rat. I can stop being worried. That was just over a month. Think I will wait 2 weeks for next try. Fluff is officially on a 2 week feed schedule since that is what he has been doing and I don't feel like wasting more rats.

Woohoo. Fluff had his first shed with us. Was complete with eye caps and tail tip. It was a bit damp and ripped while unrolling it as it was in the humid hide.
