I've never heard of a snake's tongue changing color. Many snakes do have black tongues...others do have pink tongues, like my Trans Pecos rat snakes.
Are you sure you're remembering correctly? Is Firnen your only snake? How long have you had him? Has he been sucking on licorice...?
