Exclamation Sleeping with her head sideways? Normal behavior?

Hello all! My 10 month old female ball python was in an alarming pose when I checked on her after I got home from work. I lifted her hide up, but instead of her curling up into a tighter ball, she just lay there motionless. She was still curled up but her head was on top of her body completely sideways!! I could’ve sworn she was dead, it was so shocking. I touched her and it took her a couple seconds before she started moving. I picked her up and examined her whole body, she was moving around tongue flicking like nothing happened. My heart is still racing though. She has a vet checkup a week ago and she got a clean bill of health despite being a little constipated (we’ve been doing water soaks to help with that, but she no longer has sausage butt despite not pooping). She’s also about to shed any day now, one of the reasons I checked on her. Is this normal, it was so bizarre and she’s never done that before. Does this call for a vet visit??

No, lol, it doesn't call for a vet visit. Let sleeping beeps lie.... -any which way they want to!

I'll bet we all look like "goners" now & then when we sleep. How would you like being woke up & critiqued? You probably messed up a really good dream...

THANK God! She gave me quite the fright. Since you normally can’t tell she’s even sleeping.

I know it's hard to tell if snakes are asleep, but try not to cause sleep deprivation... LOL

I believe we’ve similar threads were snakes sleeping positions were questionable. Lmao. I know I’ve personally seen an odd ball position or two.

Yes, I saw one of my large Florida rat snakes in a really odd sleep position recently too...stretched way out in her cage, with her head at an angle...
She's probably still laughing about it to herself & thinking "gotcha, human!" "Made you LOOK!"

Every dead snake I have seen has literally been belly up (minus road kill), so if they are not on their backs they are probably alive.
Honest, I only need one more ...

My male sleeps exactly like this....dead to the world, and usually with his head laying sideways. I'd be alarmed, but I'm the same way.
