Eating
Hey just a quick question, I’ve had my ball python for about 3 months now and she has never missed a meal , I feed her every Monday , even if she is in shed she takes it perfectly, she just got out of shed and I tried today ( wendsday ) I forgot to feed her Monday by accident, but I just sized up from adults mice to rat pups , I was wondering maybe if this is because it’s a couple days past when she is used to , or the rat maybe ? I fed her a rat pup last week she took it but was very iffy about it , took her a lot longer to actually strike it , or maybe she just didn’t want to ?

It’s hard to swap from mice to rats. I went and got used mice bedding and put it in a small box with the rats and let it get the scent on them. It worked great!

Some transition from mice to rats with no problem, some take time and patience, and some never switch and are considered "mousers".
Since yours already took a rat, stick to rats. Be patient. Offer weekly. Don't offer more then weekly, that can cause stress and lead to more refusals.
The scenting trick mentioned above is great advice.
