I understand thinning the population, but the way they conduct those things is just terrible. I can't imagine any other animal that their disposal is being dumped in a pit with thousands of other stressed snakes and beheaded with a shovel; especially how publicized and celebrated the whole thing is. It seems really barbaric, in my opinion. It's like selling tickets and having fun at a slaughterhouse.

All my opinion, of course! I understand both sides of the coin.

Exactly. I'm not sure how this is not considered animal cruelty under some kind of laws. I occasionally read about some kind of animal cruelty involving snakes and turtles, etc and those people, if they are found, are charged with animal cruelty.
