Heavier water bowl

IF he's soaking...are you SURE there's no mites???

Maybe a larger bowl is what you need...don't fill it so full & it won't over-flow. Sometimes my big Florida rat snakes like a bath (they're the ones with the biggest bowls)
and & have to laugh, they'll totally submerge with just their nose at the surface.

Hard to answer about "excess humidity"-?

I mean not 100% sure as I’ve never seen them but I don’t see any little black dots and I’ve never seen him soak either.
