My buddies snake died?
I was keeping my buddies 3yo normal bp after she had spent a few days in the cold (45*) because he was moving. Well 2 days after bringing her home I found she’s passed. What could have caused this? Could it be the extreme temp change to a 75 degree house?

Re: My buddies snake died?
Three days at 45 degrees is probably more to blame than a switch to 75 degrees.

These are not snakes that brumate ("hibernate") in the wild. 45* is WAY too low for a BP to remain healthy...what was he thinking? 75* is no heat wave either,
but 45* is unacceptable.

Wow so sad to read this post - poor little snake. Just sad to see what some have to go thru. A little care research would go a long way.

Probably something preexisting.
I had to remove some from a home that had the power cut for nonpayment, the guy was in prison.
It was in the 40s in the house.
I left them in my freezing garage over several days and slowly raised the temperatures gradually.
Out of nine animals I only lost one.

I’m not condoning cold or cool temps, but I was taught to fear the over heat more. I have no fear of mid or low seventies. But anything higher then low nineties I am not a big fan of. I’ve kept tropical snakes in a cold climate, but it’s the over heat that scares me. Personally I keep my high at 88/90, lows of 76/74. Just my two cents. I totally agree with Pit.
