Should I be concerned?

Should I be concerned? I recently got a new ball python. I've had it for about 2 weeks and it isn't showing any signs of shedding. It took his first meal last week with no problem whatsoever. Ate really well. But i don't see any signs of shedding. The humidity level is ok as well. I think last I checked last night, it was at 55%.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Na ... they are all so very different.. just forget about the shedding process and get familiar with its daily behaviour and movements .. then when the time comes - the eyes go blue / creamy coloured and the snake will look faded almost ghostly and will hide away for days on end ..
.. then the eyes will clear , colour returns and it will shed the skin anything up to a week after that ..

As soon as you notice it's in shed just spray the viv daily and THEN when the eyes clear and colour returns just up the spraying to two or three times daily ..

Don't worry for now. When I got my first BP I was alarmed that he'd not shed for a month or so I think? But I just kept waiting and he eventually shed. At this point just wait as it's only been 2 weeks.

The age of your BP will be a factor as well. Hatchlings-early juveniles will shed more often than late juveniles and adults because they're growing faster.

You might want to contact the breeder/whoever you got it from and ask when it last shed just so you know when to call it abnormal. They may have the shed on record or be able to estimate when they last did.

Thank you for your quick response. My ball python is I believe a month old. I will ask the breeder. I'm sure it had shed there before. I believe he mentioned that and that he had been eating live rat pups already.
