Leaving My Snakes Alone

So I’m going on a cruise for a week in about ten days. Our kids are staying here with a sitter most days and my mom on others. This is the first time I’ve had to leave the snakes in someone else’s care. I gotta say, I’m not too happy about it.

What do you all do when you’re in this situation? Take the snakes to someone with experience for safe keeping?

The only thing I'd be concerned that the snakes needed was fresh water. If the sitter or the mom can do that without leaving the enclosures open for escape, I wouldn't worry about leaving them for a week. Don't feed closer than 48 hours before you leave and then you won't have to worry about possible regurges or anything like that for someone to deal with. Otherwise, instruct that the snakes be left alone.

I agree with ryknoll3...your snakes should be fine for a week if all the cages are properly adjusted. Just have a responsible person check water bowls.
It would be far more stressful for the snakes to send them to another person's house for a week & more could go wrong that way. Relax, enjoy your trip!

Leaving the scaley kids home is best
Of course you will worry but they will be fine.

I've got nobody to help when we go on hols . I feed them all before we go and I add two extra dishes of water , one of the extra ones will be a decent size - just to ensure that the snakes have access to clean water ... all three will be away from the warm side.

We've had a few fortnights in Florida and returned to perfectly happy snakes - all had water left .

( maybe a few shedded skins ) .
