    Feeding Question:

So I have about a 4/5 month old normal bp around 15inches long, I'm not sure on the weight, I have to buy a scale yet. Anywho i asked a question before about feeding when I first got him, I was trying to feed him for the first time, with me, a fuzzy (that's what the pet store was feeding him) and was told by a few people on here he should be on hoppers by then. So I switched to hoppers. He does not look to be over or underweight by no means, but he is a little piggy and the hoppers seem a bit small for his size, but the next size up kind of seems too big, and 2 hoppers in one sitting feels like alot and I dont want him to get chubby... so should I go ahead and feed him one size up or should I feed like a hopper and a fuzzy per feeding..? Also, will bps stop and refuse food once full or will they over eat themselves sick? These are probably stupid questions...

    Re: Feeding Question:

Someone else will chime in the knowledge your looking for but FYI I have a few babies girls that will literally eat until they die if I let them. They don't know how to say no. As long as you feed prey matching the girth of the snake you will be fine if you have a smaller prey I believe feeding 2 is fine I do it all the time.

No they are not stupid questions.

If you are feeding every 7 days now, try offering every 5 days until he grows up enough to handle the next size feeder.

Also I would switch him over to rats now while he's still voracious, as switching later when he's not as hungry will be more difficult. A rat fuzzy is the equivalent of a mouse hopper, and a rat pup is the next size up.

Thank you, mondays are his feeding days and last week I went ahead and gave him two, one around 8pm, and one again around 3 or 4am cause he seemed to still be looking for more food... and they went down well... and this this week I only fed him 1 and he didnt seen to be hunting for more the rest of the night... I'm going to look into your advise about the rats tho but i need finish off his last 2 hoppers I have in the next couple of weeks first.

The first thing you need to do is get a weight on your BP so you can figure out what prey to feed him. It's important since underfeeding is as bad as overfeeding.

And because a BP cruises does not always mean he should offered more food, some will over eat if given the opportunity hence knowing how much the animal should be fed based on his weight and gender.
