    That's what I enjoy about my rat snakes too. I rearrange the "furniture" now & then, partly by necessity (replace branches etc) & partly for "habitat enrichment".
    That's how I found out that most of my rat snakes enjoy a basket wired onto their branches...most of them now sleep in them often & appear very contented,
    rather than "exposed" (despite being closer to the screen top). For me, having a pet is about interacting with it, & most rat snakes do not stay "shy", nor do they
    have feeding problems over such things (whether it's handling or changes in their homes).
