Long story short I am 100% certain the heating tape I got with my rack is faulty. It has hot spots all over it(between 5&40 degree differences) when I smelt it I Immediately took all my noodles outside the rack and got and started temp gunning areas and checking the bottom of tubs, one area of which was a whopping 132 degrees Fahrenheit with the bottom of the tub being slightly more malleable than should be not quite melted though.
I don't know what, or even if I did anything wrong.
I first noticed this in a post about my moving my thermometers and thermostat probe. (it was not this pronounced only a few degrees 5 at the most. But this is rather ridiculous. I don't think it should be normal for my heat tape to measure a different temperature every 6-12". Now I need advice on
1. Where to get better/more reliable heat tape(Have been looking at THG(PangeaReptile).
2. What do I do about my noodles heating, the room they are in gets at lowest to 77(at night) throughout the day it reaches a maximum of 84 degree's Fahrenheit will they be okay for a few days, Without those few degrees? If it helps I do live in Florida(Hot & Humid Climate already).
For spare heating, I have one unused terrarium with a UTH pad Which was Regina's, I will probably move her back into that enclosure. but now I have 3 other balls and one 45 watt heat lamp...
I do in fact plan to get shipping heat pads but, have yet too *sigh*
Also going to call where I got the racks(C serpents)(It just now reached 30days today) So hopefully they can help me out and maybe refund me at least the installation cost.
But seriously this a quite the bummer and rather infuriating.
So in my panic, I did not quite edit the post beforehand...Its edited at least much better. But I did pass the "Edit post time" So the "Edits" is in the quote.
Meanwhile, I need some sleep and will do research on tapes again, when I get up.
Any help from anybody who might have gone through a similar situation would really be appreciated! I love my noodles!
