90~93 F too hot?
Hello,
I have a rack system from c serpents and came across some discrepancy on the temperature between each slots.
I have a herpstat thermostat to control the heat. Currently, I have set it as 89.5 degrees and top two shelves are at 88 degrees on hot spot. However, the bottom shelf is at 90~93 degrees.
No matter what I do, it is like that. I know that heat tape can have variance, and even if I lower the thermostat, it won't go down much but rather affect top two shelves so I can't lower it anymore.
I have tried putting probes everywhere but it doesn't really help the bottom shelf.
My room is always heated by oil-filled radiator so temperature isn't really fluctuating. During the summer, it is at 80 degrees, during winter it is mostly between 75~78.
So my main point is, is 90~93 fine for my ball python?

I guess I should add that I know that 90 is fine, but I am just concerned with 93 degrees.

It's not dangerously warm but, if you do want to control it, you can always put an in-line lamp dimmer between the thermostat and the heat source. ( asuming the ratings are within the dimmers ability)
