So its actually more likely for you to need a CHE for the glass exo terra than the AP cageI have both and glass tanks work well if you are using an above heat source (light bulb, CHE, etc) but if using a UTH I find the APs hold the heat better. You do have to turn the thermostat up by about 7 degrees to what you want the hotspot at, but the cage holds it much better.
