    Ceramic bulbs

Hey so I’m currently using a heat pad for my ball python. It’s getting pretty outside so the ambient temperature in his cage is dropping. I did some reascerch and it says I can fix this by adding a ceramic bulb. What wattage should I use?

Please see the reply in your other post.

No one has answered this question, probably because a) you have another thread going with the same question, and b) it's impossible to answer with the information provided.

Please, always try to give as much information as possible.

Tank size and dimensions, age/weight of snake, ambient temp in room, etc.

I currently have a 20 gallon long with a 100 watt CHE and it keeps a 90 degree hot spot and 82 degree ambient temps with a Herpstat 2.

If I ever replace it, I’ll get a 150 watt because it take a while to stabilize temps after I turn it off to change the water or clean his enclosure.

I use a 100 watt in a 20L and I have a 40 gallon with a 150. These both work in tandem with UTH’s. Since I’m just looking for ambient temps with mine everything is balanced out reasonably quick.
