    The probe goes OUTSIDE the tank. Between the UTH itself and the glass.
    If left inside it will be moved, peed on, etc...and cause inaccurate readings, which could result in dangerous heat spikes.

    ....and when measuring temps with your temp gun it's important to measure the glass, not the substrate. Snakes burrow and WILL move substrate around and lay directly on the glass.
