CHE Placement
I read the set up to double check my set up. It's pretty close. But it says to have THE CHE in the middle. I also use a heat mat.
PLEASE also let me know what the hot side ambient should be and what should the surface above heat mat be under the hide? Cool side ambient temp too please. Also what is the best humidity within 5%? 50-55 or 55-60?
Thanks so much in advance!

My CHE is not in the middle. It is a third of the way. So half over my hot spot and halfway to the middle. My ambient stays 80-81 with my accurite reading the temps in the front middle of my tank.

Re: CHE Placement
I agree with Sunnie. When I had tanks, I had my CHE to either the right or the left side of the terrarium.
In regards to the humidity, if you're within 40-60% you'll be fine. During shed, boost the humidity to 70-80%. I used humid moss, which works very well.

When I knew my BP was going into shed, I'd dampen the moss in the sink, slightly squeeze it so it's not dripping with water and put it into the BP's hide. That way, they get the high humidity and they can use the moss to rub against for an easier shed. Every few days rewet the moss. Once done shedding, I'd take it out.

Oh ok. Awesome. I have it around and in both hides all the time. Should I not do that?
Also, when do you put it in the hides? As I said this is our first shed together and I'm totally new to it. Monday my daughter took her out and came to me to look at her eyes. They were awesome looking. Like a piercing light blue. But I knew why and explained it to her so we put her back. Is that when you put it in or do you wait until her eyes change back and she actually starts to shed. From everything I read that's when they actually go into their shed right? When their eyes go back to normal?

I put my CHE to the far right of the enclosure but my snake has a heating pad on that side. To get his ambient temperature up to 82 degrees there is a hot spot over his hide of 91 degrees. I turned the heating pad down to 82 degrees and I guess it will have to stay that way during the colder months.
A third of the way sounds like a good suggestion but I haven’t tried it.

That's how I have it set up too. It always made my hot side hide too hot on top but the I have the che on a dimmer now and once she sheds I think I'll move the hide to the opposite corner. I was getting a piece of plexi glass cut and second guessed it when I read the che should go in the middle. I had it cut to the side thoguh. Thanks for the response.
