    Re: Humidity gauges?

Think it'll be okay if I put the humidity gauge on the hot side?

Won't that give a false reading though ??

I presume somewhere near the middle of the viv , maybe half up the back wall maybe give a fairer reading ?!?

I'd only put it on the hot side so I could get a better reading of the temps. I don't know what happened, but the temps were always 90-91 degrees on the hot side when he used to have paper towel substrate. I've been using a temp gun to read my temperatures on both hot and cold sides. But ever since I put his cypress mulch back in, the temp gun has been reading degrees on the hot side from 90-100 degrees. Why is that?
I always put the temp gun as close to the hot side corner as I can to read the temps. It had always been the same temperature when I had paper towels. But it'll read 88-90 degrees if I don't put the temp gun directly above the corner of the hot side, but if I put it closer, it'll read higher temps.

Like I said, I tested this with the paper towels and whether or not I recorded the temps from directly above or from just the door of the terrarium, they were both the same. So whenever it reads 94 degrees I always turn it off to let it cool down. Am I using the temp gun wrong or something?

I have two Accurites in each enclosure. One at either end.
