    Sounds like an infection that gets fought off, but not entirely then returns. Tazicef is a much better drug for this type of thing (baytril is best for antibiotic resistant infections, but can cause the tissue to necrose - in very young mammals it has been shown to effect growth as well but not sure for reptiles). Hope your noodle quickly gets better.
    No cage is too large - nature is the best template - a snoot can't be booped too much
