Thanks for all the input! Yes, I will definitely be keeping my snake and other pets separate now, I do agree that it's not worth the risk. I got a little bit caught in the moment of them approaching one another curiously; but it's definitely not something to do again!

Also, I recall cats have gram negative bacteria in their saliva(and thus claws) that can easily kill small animals and reptiles- plus cats can have a crazy prey drive. So I definitely agree that cats and reptiles do not mix!
