He actually just barely tagged me for the first time just now. Surprised the hell out of me but he was acting unusually twitchy while he was out just now so I read that as a sign to put him away. Was putting him back in his cage and he just nicked my thumb but I could definitely see how a more serious/deliberate bite could be trouble. Only one good tooth snag but it bled and quickly at that
He’s clearly very interested in breeding; arching and cruising all over, most notably since his last shed a couple days ago.
I think moving into Phyllis’s soon to be old cage soon will help (maybe ever so slightly) but I’ll also expect that he’s just going to be a horny, twitchy, spastic Male retic. Once
Phyllis heals up maybe I’ll try pairing again but that’s only once she’s doing well.
They are definitely a very assertive species. If you know your animals you can absolutely tell when things are about to head south
