    Ambient temperature in tub

Hi! I just purchased my first ball python. One thing I didn't consider is the ambient temperature and how to maintain it. I'm using a sterile tub and my house temperature is usually set at 72-73. Ive been researching for days on what to do but I'm not finding any solutions. I'm wanting to have a rack eventually with lots of ball pythons but I have to figure out the ambient temperature situation first. I can't heat the house to the right temperature because I live with my mom and she can't sleep with it anywhere above 73. Im also concerned for when winter comes, our heat doesn't work very well and the house may be as low as 60-70. Please please help me find a solution. I love ball pythons and I don't want to have to re-home her.

Gavin from Balls2You has a great video on YouTube how to set up a baby ball python that is very helpful, maybe a space heater that way you are not warming up the whole house but only a closet, sorry I can not be more helpful best wishes to you and your sweet new noodle.

Here's something I wrote a while back about using a CHE with a tub. https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...with-pictures)

    Re: Ambient temperature in tub

Well I was in that shoes.. lol Bought ball, realized ambient was kind of low. Some say heat tape/pad doesn’t effect ambient and I would also say so but it raised about 1 degrees for me so almost nothing haha. The actual room that your snake enclosure is in will determine ambient inside the tub. I use a oil filled radiator with built in thermostat which was like 70-80 dollars. Works very very well and not much electricity bill. I only have to use it during the winter because summer is hot!!! If you can’t heat the house, heat just one room. If you can’t even do that, use the heat lamp solution. You will have to figure something before winter comes
