Possible Infected Scale on Rainbow Boa?

    Hi there!

I have a 1.5 year old rainbow boa with an odd scale on his back. The scale has some white coloration and is slightly raised to the touch, and it's about 1/3 of the way down his body (pictures included). I'm not sure if it's problematic or if its in the process of healing or something similar - maybe it got caught on something?

    In terms of husbandry:
    - substrate: forest floor & coconut fiber mix
    - humidity: ambient anywhere from 50-80, with a humid hide always provided
    - temperature: ambient 78(ish) degrees fahrenheit, hot spot provided by UTH but with so much substrate I don't know if much heat is getting through. I use an infrared bulb thats placed in the middle of the tank so the middle of the tank is the warmest part

What is it and should I be concerned?

Hard to say but if it's raised it could either be some infection underneath it (maybe just from bending it backward, catching it on something in cage) or an insect
bite? Can't see close enough here to know...
Could try some topical antiseptic (safe for snakes) on it. (Neosporin, NOT pain relief version, or Betadine). Won't hurt, might help.
