Most of the girls I keep as breeders are well over 1000 grams at a year. Boys around 600. These animals come from big parents. I did breed some smaller animals this year. It is going to be interesting to see the difference in growth rates. I don't measure the length of my animals but I would guess that the girls are well over three feet at a year.
None of this really matters though unless you are intentionally chasing big animals. The yellowbelly stuff I am working with is pretty small compared to my bel complex stuff, but they are healthy. Just not genetically programmed to get large.
