Whew, I had a busy weekend. They're all out now! But it took awhile. The poor little enchi had to wait all by herself for two days while the others stuck their heads out.
Had to show this pic because I love the headstamp on the one on he bottom right. Isn't it gorgeous?
Then on day two she was finally joined by a friend. The pied kept sticking his neck out and then going back in. I sure was glad to see him though.
Then, on the morning of the 12th, the rest all came out at once! Finally.
After that I rinsed them off, weighed them, sexed them, and set them up in individual tubs. They were all between 76-82 grams.
I've gotta admit, I'm kinda bummed that I only got one pied. The male was a visual! But what the odds gods denied me in the pied gene they made up for in combos and sex ratios. The pied is the only male in the clutch. All the others are female and half of the clutch are two gene animals. So far I think I have: 1 normal het pied, 1 pied, 1 enchi het pied, and 3 pastel enchi het pieds. Waiting until after the first shed to be certain though.
Kind of odd that I didn't get any single gene pastels. The pastel enchis are really pretty though. The one with the super clean headstamp is definitely a keeper.
