    What happened is NATURE, because you breed to animal together does not mean you have a guarantee of healthy thriving hatchlings, some die during incubation, some die as they crawl out of the egg, some have minor to severe deformities.

    Pair the same animals again next season see if the outcomes are different and if they are not just do not breed those animals, at least not together.
