    Active ball pushing against tub

    Hello,

Do you guys have any ball that is super active? Not always, but my ball python keeps trying to push the tub. looks like he is trying to find a way to escape.. or he would just move around dig around substrate.
I have no idea if he does it at night but I see him doing at day time for a while. He moves around, push lid, moves water bowl and substrate. When he eats, he doesn't do this for two days.
I know that if there is a discomfort, ball can do that but there is not from what I see.
Hot spot at 90 ambient at 78~80. Humidity at 60%. He eats fine (pretty picky so once in a while, he refuses), sheds fine, poops fine, drinks fine. Food size is appropriate for his size and eats once a week. Gains weight slowly.
I was just wondering if anyone else has super active ball python like mine even though the husbandry is right on.

How old is he? He may just be looking for love. When mine do it, I let them have their way, but in my case that is what they are there for. Take him out and play with him for a bit. It may chill him out.

Adding on to that, after some time, he just goes back to his hide and sleeps. Is it just super active and curious? loves exploring? or should I check for something?

He should be about 10 months old. I do take him out when he does that, and he seems to explore around flicking tongue.

Yeah behavior like that indicates wanting a girlfriend or food. You said he is eating well so that leaves wanting a girl and he is old enough.

Welp, does the size matter if he wants a girl or not? even though he is at that age, he is still at 230 g. But there is a female right next to his enclosure.

Depends on the boy. They can go very young and very small. They are not like the girls and the tiniest boy will tackle a big girl without thinking twice about it.
