16 months ago I got my first snake (bp) and have been hooked ever since. Now 10 snakes and 3 lizards later....I finally (not that I was waiting in anticipation for it) received my first snake bite. And of course it was my fault - a classic SFE (stupid feeding error). I went to feed my 15 mth old MBK last night and didn't think he 'sensed' the mouse. He was hiding under his paper towel where I really couldn't see him. Dummy me thought I'd reach in and lift the paper towel up...well he obviously had smelled the mouse and when he saw my finger grabbing the paper towel he got me. And only about 1 hour earlier my blue tongue skink had bitten me (same hand 2 fingers over) - another SFE.

2 love bites in one night!

You don't believe in doing things halfway, do you? LOL. Congrats on passing the initiation.

The skink bite hurt worse than my MBK. The MBK felt more like a prick, but he drew more blood while the skink bite took some skin and bleed only a little . My Crested bites me sometimes when he's licking food off my finger. If there's a big glob he'll try to bite the whole thing at once and gets my finger sometimes. My skink was just so excited because I was trying to feed her some shreddd chicken (one of her favs) from my fingers, but I didn't get a long enough piece and she got my finger with the food. Shredded chicken and turkey make her go crazy! She lunged at me with her mouth open trying to get it. Hey, if you're going to do something might as well go all the way!

And then of course there's all the scratches I get from my MTS and his long claws....
