so as some of you know I’m new to BP keeping. I ended up going on vacation this weekend and when I went to feed my BP she was in her log hide and didn’t want to come out so I wasn’t able to feed her before I left.

So i was wondering do I feed her On schedule this week or feed her 5 days of when she would’ve ate instead of 7? So she eats Sunday on a normal basis.

Also o weighed her in at 151 g, and I was told to feed her 2 fuzzies but that only equals around 12g total which isn’t enough following the 10-15% rule. When I looked for her poop all I found was a small little semi liquid thing on the side of her hide and it was very small. So I am under the impression she’s being under fed. Should I move to pinkies or more fuzzies? Thanks for any and all advice!
    Hello.

I figured I'd share a few things with you.

    1) it's best NOT to feed for 7 days before leaving for a vacation. The reason being if the animal regurges it won't be left to stew in the mess. There was another thread recently about this and Deborah included a link where that actually killed the snake.

    2) Fuzzies are way to small for a BP. They eat hoppers right out of the egg, for typically only their first 3-5 meals, then quickly move up in size to small adult mice.
Pinkies are even smaller, you don't want to go backwards.
See the chart below for reference.
Yes, there is no poop and only a small amount of urates because the animal is underfed. It is using nearly 100% of its meal just to survive.

    3) I would stick to offering every 7 days.
Offering too often can stress the animal and lead to more refusals.

Lastly, I'm curious why you thought you couldn't feed her if she was in her hide? That is the perfect place to feed.
