    How did this happen?!

    UUUGH

Ok so I have no idea how this happened, but a whole continent's worth of fruit flies decided to just take residence in my humble abode. THEY ARE E V E R Y W H E R E! Not to mention, all over the reptile tanks . I guess they get in through the top but geez. They're all over the cresties Pangea too. I can't have a can of soda without covering it up, and three have landed on my phone while I type this. Does anyone know how to get rid of these little devils? I don't keep any as feeders, and we keep my whole house pretty clean. I honestly have no idea how they got here It's been 2 days now, I would've tried dealing with this sooner but we've been in and out of the house. Sorry for ranting 🤣 These things are driving me crazy lol. Thanks guys

get a container and fill it with 50/50 vinegar and orange juice then put saran wrap over it and poke holes in the saran wrap and put them all over the place!

Also if anyone in the house drinks red wine.....ya that works too, like a charm!

Mist hardware stores as well as Wal-Mart's make traps that work really well. But red wine vinegar works really well too. In addition to red wine, they really like sweet vermouth (it's in the wine family)

I had this problem after the flood from hurricane Harvey last year. All these work but I got Catchmaster Bug and Fly Clear Window Fly Traps, they are the best thing ever! I put them in windows, near bright lights and places like around the sink and trash cans. We had so many gnats it was impossible to have any food or lights on, it drove me mad. I reccomend buying the big pack on Amazon you get 12 packs for about $25usd.

That makes more sense...the dish soap breaks the surface tension so they drown. When I catch icky* insects (*that I don't want to squash & mess up walls) I just
add water & a drop of dish soap to the container I caught them in. Works safe & easy with no pesticide.
