Best/cleanest BCC locality

There is NO cleanest, brightest locality. The BCC and BCI boas that are from certain locales are selectively bred for certain traits.

Some are bred for red tails, some for peaked saddles some for golden tones. Some for size, it all depends really.

There are many different locales in the BCC world. Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, Pokigigron Suriname, Iquitos Peru, Pucallpa Peru, the list goes on. There are BCC from Brazil and there are very rare Colombian BCC.
All have speckles to some extent in nature.

Every locale, while is in its wild forum, will not typically look like a selectively bred animal.

Personally, I find some of the darkest Peruvian boas to be some of the most beautiful. However I'm a big fan of natural coloring.

I have a locality Colombian BCI from Barranquilla, Colombia. He does have some speckling but not a lot. Perfect for my taste.



This line was selectively bred by Gus Rentfro of Rio Bravo Reptiles. There are 2 great members here with Pokigron Suris, (Sauzo and JMCrook) that also come from Rio Bravo stock.

It is completely up to you to pick out what you like. Each individual from a litter will have something that stands out.

Breeders can't predict which animals they produce will be the ones that become "keepers" until the snakes have matured a bit. Even then, the breeder may have a completely different idea of what is desirable to them compared to another individual.

Saddles, buckskin back tones, or the reddest of tails.

Look more at the breeder than the actual locale, and find who's breeding the boas you like the most on a consistent basis.

OP, I’m new to the boa world but here’s my new boy, Leonard. He’s a 2018 pokigron suriname red tailed boa from Rio Bravo bloodlines. Dad was originally a holdback of Gus Rentfro before he got out of the boa business.

I’ve only had him a couple weeks but so far I love him.
