Snakes will shed in one piece when husbandry is correct. Since your snakes shed is coming off in pieces humidity was probably too low, or the snake may be a bit dehydrated.
Important areas are: eye caps, vent and tail tip. As long as these areas shed properly then nothing serious will come of the poor shed health-wise.
For now, I would give the snake a short soak in like warm water (about 80 something degrees). Depending on the size of the snake you can use a storage tub, bucket or bath tub. Only put enough water in so it's covering 1/2 of the snake, you don't want the snake submerged. Also, keep your eyes on the snake the whole time. After 10-15 minutes take the snake out and let it slither in a damp towel, applying light pressure. The remaining skin should come off, but DO NOT peel it off, let it come off naturally. Repeat if needed.
