Well you do know RBI cages i believe only offer drop down acrylic door FYI. Plus with another T8, you can stack them for a cleaner look. But i hear ya on the shipping time lol.

As for another T-stat, just go for broke and order a Herpstat 4 since you have 4 snakes. Then if for some reason you end up with another snake, you will have a back up T-stat. But the Jumpstart will work too. i use them for my quarantine tanks.

Nice. Will do. It's more of i like them but they are BPs at the end of the day and will spend like 99% of the time in a hide hahaha.
Well I’d only need to change the AC if the BCC stays in the tub. If I steal Geoffrey’s cage then I’m set with the heat panel.
I would go for the herpstat 4 but the way the outlets are arranged I wouldn’t be able to plug 4 Pro Heat panels into it. The power cord to the panels is a sideways orientation and won’t allow for 4 of them that close to each other without the cord becoming an obstruction to the plug next to it, ya know?
And I hear you about ball pythons being, well, ball pythons lol. Amazing to look at but not the most interesting captives. Anyway give CJ’s page a look. That’s the guy I got my first snake from over two decades ago. Makes some amazing animals
Back on to bcc topic... anything else I should be prepared for? I feel like I’ll be fine but this is new territory for me

Oh yeah, i forgot Pro Products uses thoses goofy side plugs lol. Figured Bob would have figured out those things are more trouble than worth. You can always just use short extension cords from the unit to the plugs to give yourself room.

As for the BCC, you got the cage and RHP. Just the basics like a couple hides and a water bowl and a temp/humidity gauge. Boas are kind of like retics and arent that scared for the most part. Some are more shy than others but it seems all my BCI and Gina werent very shy. Louie the BCL was the only shy one but i have been told BCL as a species are shy.

Got quarantine set up and monitoring temps. So far it spot on. Have a CHE on the top rack to help boost ambient temp and UTH set at 94* is giving a perfect 90* on the tub floor. Really wanted QT in the bedroom because it’s easier to close off than the living room. Also if I did QT in the living room then Phyllis can’t come out to cruise the apt haha! Then I can check on new little guy in the morning, shower, check the other critters, go about my day and then check on him when I go to bed. Not the best quarantine system but it’s the best arrangement that’s possible in a small 2 bed apt. Of course I’ll also PAM everyone’s cages and tubs before the new arrival shows up as preventative measure.

That’s not a bad idea with the extension cords. Not exactly sure why that never crossed my mind as that’s the plainly obvious solution. Just wish spyder would make a redline 4! Throwing blue into the palette would ruin my perfectly black and red color scheme lol. I’ll stick with my two H2 redlines and backup jumpstart for now. Then I’ve got a thermostat channel for every critter and no more. Gotta call myself maxed out at 4 critters for a while. May order a couple extra probes to make alternating from RHP to belly heat more convenient when seasonal temps change. Phyllis is the only one currently on belly heat though so not a huge deal
And yeah, I’ve got hides, Infrared thermometer, hygrometer/thermometer in the tub, water bowl, good to go. We’ll see how small he is when he gets here but I had planned to use my old small/med exoterra hide and and old box turtle shell I’ve had for like 25+ years. If he doesn’t fit either of those I’ve got two large RBI hides, which I’m sure are too big though. Could just crumple some newspaper or paper towels in them to make them feel more secure.

He'll easily fit a small hide if he is that young. Gina who is an Aug 2016 snake fits a large RBI hide with lots of room to spare. And a lot of the time since I've given all the little snakes 2 bags of cypress, they have been sitting outside the hides buried under the damp cypress all stretched out.

As for PAM, i personally dont like to use chemicals on my snakes so my advice would be to just spray PAM on a rag outside and then just wipe down the outside of the cages and any cords and table legs/table tops that the cages sit on or anywhere that mites could get into the cage, especially around the vent holes and door openings.

And for the QT cage, i would spray the PAM now. That will give it plenty of time to dry before the snake arrives. Although honestly, i kind of broke the rule and didnt QT Gina when i got her lol. I know you should but i have been rather sloppy about QTing my snakes recently. I just had faith in the breeders i got from as they were big players in the game who have a big reputation to hold up so i couldnt imagine them taking chances with tarnishing it. And yes, i know that is still no excuse lol.

Sauzo, you know better... especially with as large as your gang of critters has gotten.
Got the quarantine tub PAMed and just prepped a few sheets of white craft paper as bedding so I can change em out quickly and then have backups already treated. As for the established critters, I’ll probably do a deep clean and wipe everything with a PAMed rag before putting substrate back in and such.
Really glad my MacGuyver QT set up is working so nicely. Temps are perfect 78-79* cool side, 80-81* mid zone, and UTH hotspot of 89-90*. I almost got rid of that lamp and CHE when I moved a couple weeks ago and really glad now that I didn’t. Setting that on the top shelf of my wire rack gives a perfect ~4* ambient temp boost from 12” or so above the tub

Yeah i know. I do wash my hands and use separate feeding utensils for new arrivals though. And i mess with them last. Heck Pat still has his own forceps for feeding as he is the newest addition.

It’s better than nothing! And to be totally transparent, I didn’t quarantine Phyllis when I got her either. Was my first time owning multiple snakes and was lucky she was completely perfect... aside from showing up a day late and freezing cold looking dead. Thanks fedex
