If his last feeding was 2 weeks ago, then he's also searching for dinner about now, besides just feeling safer to explore at night.

Right now the ambient temp is 78 degrees with 60% humidity. I have a moonlight bulb to raise the overall temp with a UTH set at 85-90 degrees. He hasn’t eaten anything yet, but I think the last time he ate was about 2 weeks ago. Is his behavior normal? Or is he just an active snake?
I am a very new snake owner (adopted Alice last month 5/13). Alice is about 2 1/2 yrs old. She stays hidden all day, but the moment the lights dim down to night/moon lights, out she comes. And she is very active at night. She does what you're describing your guy doing. Climbs around the tank. Checking out every nook and cranny including top screen. She climbs the fake plants I have in her enclosure. She is super curious. Just hasn't eaten yet since I got her. This Sunday will be try # 4. Really hoping she takes the rat this time! She's right at at the top of her terrarium, even now as I type this. It's a 15" high enclosure, and she just stretches right to the top with her head, no problem. lol Hope your guy eats. He is gorgeous. What's his name?

Re: Is This Normal Behavior?
That's what mine did almost every night except shortly after feeding until I recently moved her into a much larger cage. I think you're good. Mine seems to be well adjusted and never refuses a meal except just before shed. Seems pretty normal to me.

Re: Is This Normal Behavior?
As long as you're certain the warm side / cool side SURFACE temps are not too warm ... I'd add a few branches ( from local woods and parks ) .
Does your thermometer have a wired probe or is it one of those stick on ones that measure ambient temps ?
Have you got a digital temperature gun ( ten dollars ) ?
