Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of snake keeping!!

I see the bug has already bit you and your wife and you're already looking to add more. I've said for years : snakes and tattoos, I don't know many people with just ONE. Hahahahaha.

Just throwing my two cents out there: BPs are an awesome species, the most popular in the pet trade for a reason. That being said, there are sooooooo many other species to choose that make amazing pets. I personally love having a diverse collection. I love BPs, I have a BP, but I am super happy I have multiple species. It's fascinating to me to compare and contrast different species.
Anyway, just throwing that out there as food for thought. You certainly can't go wrong with another BP though.

This community is a priceless resource and is extremely beneficial for everybody from newbies to experienced keepers and breeders, so I'm glad you found us!

Good luck, we're here to help along the way!!!

Absolutely I really got an eye for a retic, but gonna have to gain some experience first.

Ummmmmm..... Let me be the first to say Retics are lovely to look at and great experience so far but not for most people. They have big personalities to go with their big bodies. Caging and feeding is not cheap. I have no regrets and owning a retic can be very rewarding. Just take your time. Love the one you have now. After learning more snake language you can move up to boas and such but please don't bite off a retic to fast.

I know this is not what you are doing. Just wanted to make sure.

I know, I know,..... I move quickly and learn fast. Not everyone should.

I understand, I don’t have plans to get one anytime soon. Like you said gaining the proper knowledge first is key. Be assured I will not jump into it until I feel truly ready and comfortable to do so.

Yeah, a retic is no joke. Not to say any animal is, but you get my point.
Lots of options in between BP and retic if you're into something with more size than a BP. If you're looking more girth and a strong animal, Borneo or Sumatran STP or blood pythons are awesome animals. If you're more about length a carpet python or a boa might make a nice addition.
Anyway, enjoy your new BP. No need to rush into your next one. Stick around here and learn all you can. You'll also see about a million and a half species to add to your "wishlist"...

P.S. I'm also a huge advocate for Kingsnakes, my personal favorite species I've kept.

The hardest part about this hobby, for me anyway, is knowing and sticking to my limitations. I simply can't afford to add much more financially right now. I'm trying to upgrade enclosures, plus I keep some money stored away for an emergency vet visit. More snakes equals more food, more potential vet bills, more equipment. So I have to choose carefully when I make my next few additions. My max I think will be 8, so I'm half way there now. My wishlist has way more than 4 on it!!!! Maybe I should bump my cap to 10, hahahaha.

Understandable, I know not to stretch my finances thin. But a wish list never hurts and I think I’m a bad influence because now your wanting to add more lol
