I've created a tiny garden of eden
...on my porch.
So, I found a toad on porch a few nights ago - tossed it some small mealworms just to see what would happen. He gobbled them up without caring that I was standing there. Then I decided to put two of the old hides from when my snoot was little outside. One under a bush near a shallow bird bath and one on the porch. I put some soil and damp moss in the one on the porch. The next day, I looked and 2 toads had moved in.
So, I set up a shallow water dish and a shallow dish for mealworms. Over night the worms vanished. And there was a third toad in the hide in the bush.
This afternoon I went to fill up the bird feeder, and now there is a 5-lined skink in the mealworm bowl munching away...
I don't live in the woods or on a farm anymore, the parking lot to my complex is less than 30 feet from my porch, yet all these little creatures have moved in. Not gonna lie, it makes me really happy
No cage is too large - nature is the best template - a snoot can't be booped too much

I LOVE it! What a great idea... My experiences with toads are that they aren't very shy, lol... I find them in my yard & I greatly appreciate their
presence patrolling my yard; sometimes I have to move them out of the way when I mow but they don't pee on me. My dogs ignore them too.
I've always loved frogs & toads since I was a kid. I sometimes see a garter snake or little skinks in my yard too. I purposely leave a LOT of cover.
I put out some food & water for the birds too. Love watching the birds take baths...

That is so awesome CrowF, great job!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

That is pretty cool! Very much like a “wild bird feeder” for wild reptiles.

Sounds heavenly, great pictures , bet it a wonderful thing to just sit and watch nature unfold it's endless beauty right before your eyes. I used to feed the birds but with all the stray cats it was like giving them a buffet so I stopped I miss them thou.
