    Rat size question.

I know about the weight %'s etc. I have an extra bag of small rats and i also have a bag of medium rats. The small rat is about half his girth. Is it ok to feed him 2 to supplement for a medium size. Or should i just feed him the mediums? Also he's is developing a pink belly which might be because of shed since he hasnt had one since i have owned him. Doesn't have a UTH and my temps are 92 hot side 86ish ambient and 80-82 cold side so i doubt its a burn.

Yup, perfectly fine to double up and feed off what you have left. Personally, what I might do, depending on the size of the smalls (if 2 outweigh 1 medium) and size of the snake is feed the mediums, but occasionally give 2 smalls just til they're gone. I hope that makes sense. But honestly feeding them off first is fine too.

Also, yup, sounds like an upcoming shed. Bump the humidity and you'll be good.

He's about 1200 grams or so. Don't have a scale but he has some girth. The small rats i wish i can weigh but they do look like they are on the smaller side.

Personally, I'd probably just alternate between feeding one small or one medium. Or just feed one small at a time but maybe a day or two sooner
(& only if he shows he is hungry). They don't get size perfection in the wild, but sometimes they can have trouble digesting 2 at once.

You can raise the humidity now.

And just to follow up on above, I've never noticed any difference in behavior, demeanor or anything else after feeding multiple prey with any of my animals. If it's a bigger meal, regardless of 1 prey item or 2, they tend to stay hidden and digesting a bit longer. But I personally have never noticed a difference when multiple prey items are eaten.
