My BP has outgrown his current feeder mice (hoppers). I have a stash of F/T mice that I want to use up. So, I am thinking of feeding him two of the mice at each feeding. How do I do this? Put both in his tank at the same time? Wait 'til he has one worked down his throat, then toss another in the tank? Help.

If they are F/T I usually just throw in two at once. If you do, make sure number two doesnt sit there too long.

Wait until he's completely swallowed the first one and gone back to rest and see if he'll take the second. You can also try feeding two days in a row or twice a week spread out by a few days. With frozen you have a lot of flexibility so experiment and see what works for you.

I was in the same situation as you. I feed two at a time to go through what I have stored in the freezer. I give one (the bigger of the two), then when that one is swallowed completely he put the second under the heat lamp to bring the temp back up some for a moment. Then I put the second one in there and he's taken it every time. He's got used that that now, so now when he swallows the first one he'll get back in the strike position and wait for the second. Sometimes he'll strike, coil, and "kill" the first one, then let go, and get back in the strike position and wait for the second before he even starts to swallow the first. When he does that I ALWAYS wait until he swallows the first one before I give him the second.

I fed two last night, and it worked fine. I gave him the first one, waited 'til he had it down, then dropped the second one in his tank. He looked at it for a while and I got tired of waiting and went to bed. When I got up this morning, it was gone.

Just curious - why do you wait to give the second one?

I think its just personal prefernce.

I have fed two pinkies at a time to my corn , sometimes ill put them both in and sometimes ill wait until shes finished with one and then give her the second.

I guess its all about what works for you and your snake and what you want to do.

Just a personal preferance I guess. I don't really have a reason behind it. It's just what I always do and it's always worked out good for me.
