Changing from Tank to Tub And Thermostat brands
Hello all, I知 in the market for a new ball python and before I make my decision, I decided to change from a tank to a tub. But my issue is that I have already adhered the UTH to the tank. Does anyone know a way I could take off the UTH with out damaging it and reuse it for the tub? Or should I just buy a new UTH and use the tank for another snake sometime Down the line.
Also so since I知 already asking. I have a Zilla thermostat 1000 watt, does anyone have any experience working with that particular brand and device? I致e looked at the Zoomed 300 and 600 watt one as well.

I recently threw away my Zilla thermostat because it was realllllly not working and I won't get another Zilla thermostat again. So, yes I've used the Zilla, and don't think it works very well.
This week I actually got a Herpstat 1, and I absolutely love it and would recommend it to you. Lots of people here use Herpstat.

What痴 the price range for one of those? I really plan getting up to three ball pythons so I would need one that take up to three UTHs or heating Tapes

They are more on the expensive side, but are really worth it! Here is a link to where you can check out all the Herpstats and see which one would work best for you( I only have herpstat 1, so I don't know about needing it for three)
https://www.spyderrobotics.com/index...=index&cPath=1 Let me know if the link works

As for removing the UTH, it can be done. I've moved them before. It just takes patience, go nice and slow and try not to bend the mat. Bending the mat can break a coil, ruining the UTH. They also need to be taped onto the new enclosure because they won't stick as well.
On the t-stat topic, if stay away from Zilla and ZooMed. I haven't made the jump to HerpStat YET, but will be in a few months when I start my enclosure upgrades. I currently use Jumpstart and Big Apple and am satisfied with them, but ultimately want to upgrade when I've saved enough cash.

How about the exo terra ones? I知 not going to be breeding any snakes but I still want a quality thermostat. The ones I looked at have only two prongs. But I知 only using up to 3 UTHS.
AND I tried that and the clear film started coming off so I stopped

I really don't know much about the Exo Terra t-stats. But, I personally wouldn't go for one. I don't personally like much of their products.
I haven't used them, but I've read a few decent things about the InkBird tstats being good for the money.

Re: Changing from Tank to Tub And Thermostat brands
Honestly is you can afford it I'd suggest investing in the Herpstat 4. I started out using all Jumpstart thermostats which have been fine, but I'm in the process of switching them all to Herpstats just because I want the best for them.
The zilla and zoomed one are really just overpriced garbage.
Also OP, didn't see in the thread if you are aware of the difference, the cheaper tstats are on/off, which allow for (in my experience) at least 4 degrees of fluctuation in temperature. The Herpstats are proportional, which means that it regulates the amount power going to the uth, allowing for far less fluctuation in temps. Besides all that, the herpstats have better safety features
