Hi everyone,
After doing research for a few months, I’ve decided to take the leap into Boas and will be receiving this yearling later this week:
This girl is a hypo possible super (66% het anery).
She will be quarantined for 4 months (standard protocol regardless of where they are from). I was originally planning on putting her in a CB70 tub in my quarantine rack kept in a different room. However, I do have a 36 x 22 x 30 wooden Vivarium equipped with a proheat RHP:
There is a hidden hide as seen in the first pic. The room this is kept in is a constant 77° -80°F depending on the time of year. I was thinking of switching out the wood for PVC perches for the ease of sanitizing.
Question for the experienced boa keepers here: would the enclosure above be an adequate setup, or should I keep her in a tub? Ultimately, she’ll be moved to a t13 from AP cages (48 x 30 x 18) with either heavy PVC perches or a shelf.
This thread isn’t meant to be a rack vs. enclosure for their collection debate, but rather, which would work for this particular animal. The wooden Vivarium is slated to be used for my green tree python, once she/he is large enough for it.
Many thanks in advance.
