My question to the folks who have eaten Gators and Snake, I'm assuming to be safe you guys can't eat the meat medium or medium rare correct? Due to their diet, it would probably require you to cook the meat well done, is that right?
Just curious.
I dont see how their diet would have anything to do with it? I dont have a degree in biology, but tobthe best if my knowledge, eating meat doesn’t necessarily make a prey animal more dangerous to eat. ANY meat has a risk involved when not fully cooked. Heck, you can even get salmonella from plant food, if it is not sanitary. Sanitation is key.
eating herbivores only as a rule sounds more like a cultural taboo, rather than any scientific rationale behind it.
