Snake, tornado & power outages, oh my

Right now we are having really bad thunderstorms and the chance for tornadoes in my area are really high. My snake Sobek just ate yesterday, also if the power goes out, he'll have no warmth, not to mention what will happen if we actually get hit by a tornado. If the sirens go off, I'll bunker down in the bathroom with him and the other animals. How much risk do I have that he will regurgitate and will he do so while I'm holding him?

I want to keep him warm, so I'm thinking body heat while we are sheltering from the tornado (if the sirens go off) I do have a tub I can put him in if his tank gets broken.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers if you're the praying sort.

Where I live we have frequent tornado warnings and one year a tornado completely destroyed our highschool to the ground and 9 kids were killed..
Very sobering.
And scary..

In the event of a actual warning with sirens going off, just grab him and worry about the rest later. Put him in a tub at first, less stress then holding him. If temps really start to go down, you can always warm him on your body. But always do the least stressful thing while still doing the necessary thing.

Have a pillow case ready. This way you can keep him in a dark and enclosed space and he won't move around much if you have to hold him. Less danger of him stressing.

Thanks for your help. The tornado warnings have been lifted and now we are having some heavy winds, but I think the risk of power failure is gone. It did give me something to think about, as I never thought about what to do if the power went out or if there was some sort of natural disaster.

Yes, its always best to be prepared.

Esp. with Tornadoes.

Sometimes You get very little warning. Most of the times they can tell hours before that the weather is favorable for tornado activity and you will have watches and warnings, but in February we had a Warning come out of nowhere !!!

First of all February ?? That is way early. It didn't even look all that stormy, either. Then we had a Thunderstorm develop and within minutes we had Sirens blaring. I was sitting down in my PJ's drinking coffee. Of course the cat ran off under some bed while I frantically tried to round everyone up to get into our small "safe" room, barely had time to put a bra on. Can't be caught outside in a storm without proper and matching underwear, my mom would be horrified, LOL !!

whats the temps by you now ??

you could for a backup order the heat packs that breeders use to box and send animals. Maybe having a reserve of those should you loose
power will give you some heat source for the time being

do you have a fireplace ??
