Humidity for Daysssss
I have a young red tail boa. I am having issues with my humidity because of my time away from home. I am regular gone for 1 to 1.5 weeks at a time. I have built a drip system for her enclosure but it only provides around 45-50% humidity. The drip system also saturates the coco fiber too much in my opinion. It seems like she doesn't like it either. It runs for 15 minutes every 2 hours. I fear that if I set it back anymore, it will lower humidity. If I make it more frequent, it will over saturate the substrate.
I have built and connected a separate enclosure that is more like an aquarium. Rocks, about 4 inches of water, filter, basking spots. She uses it often.
My main question is: Will the 50% in her main enclosure be fine as long as she can move to her water enclosure when she wants higher humidity levels?

Re: Humidity for Daysssss
Also, I have used a humidifier in the past to create the required 60-70% humidity but the tank is not large enough to last more than 2.5 days.

I would shoot for 60-65% as a minimum. You can also create a humid hide which would give the snake the option of humidity. I personally wouldnt have the snake sitting on wet substrate 24/7. That is just asking for something bacterial. Snakes need air humidity, not a soaking wet cage floor lol.
You need to ditch the tank and get a PVC cage. Tanks can work but you need to modify them and very large tanks, i would imagine it would be a nightmare to try and get set up right.

Oh and i forgot to mention, if you need a longer lasting mister, check into Mist King. Their system uses like a 5 gallon bucket lol.
